Fifteen years ago, I didn’t know what deconstruction was. I just knew I was burned out—exhausted from a lifetime of trying to earn something that was never mine to earn. Hurt and angry, I walked away from the church performance game and everything I’d been taught about God. This blog is my journey through deconstruction, scattered with unexpected “Ah-ha!” moments where Jesus showed up in ways I didn’t expect. It’s not just about looking back—it’s about moving forward. (Are we ever really done?) I write to trace how Abba gently led me to a place where I could finally see Him for who He is. Much of this journey is only now coming into focus, and I invite you to walk it with me as we explore the richness of God and His relentless faithfulness.
I’ll be honest: I have no plan. Just a nudge from Him to pick up my long-lost love of writing—and here we are. My hope is that these reflections might encourage others walking a similar path. Whether you call it deconstruction or, like me, prefer the simplicity of repentance, this space is for you. May it offer hope, honesty, and a reminder that you’re not alone
“Father, thank you for your love for us. Thank you for your promise to never leave or forsake us. Thank you that you are trustworthy and we can know you will not ever turn your back on us. Father, I ask today that this would be a tool to whomever is reading this so that they would find Your comfort and Your peace where ever they are in their journey to union with You. I ask that your felt presence be made real to them so much so that whatever incorrect assumptions or views of you and themselves would fall away. Thank you Father, for your faithful, patient, and perfect work in us.”
